Job description

Introduction

Are you a UK-based Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) looking for a new bank opportunity to work in a supportive and kind environment with the flexibility to choose the shifts you want to work? If so, join our team at Gardens & Jacobs Neurological Centre in Sawbridgeworth.

As an experienced Registered Nurse from the NHS or private sector, you'll join the team at Gardens & Jacobs as Bank Registered Nurse working with a 12.07% hourly pay uplift and the ability to book our shifts through the Temployer App, while changing lives for the better.

Your career at Elysium will be enjoyable and rewarding as you develop specialist skills and make a real difference for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Being a Bank Registered Nurse at Garden & Jacobs is a career that you can take pride in and enjoy. It’s what delivering great healthcare should feel like.

What you will be doing

As a Registered Nurse you will join a supportive multi-disciplinary team that works well together in caring for people of all ages who are living with neurological and long-term conditions, including those living with physical disabilities and recovering from traumatic injuries, and providing a high level of personal and rehabilitative care.

You will pick up shifts to work as part of a wider team alongside therapy colleagues to deliver the individual care each person needs while maintaining accurate records.

It can be very physical working with people with limited mobility, providing personal care and although challenging, it is highly rewarding. You’ll be supported by a team of colleagues ready to lend a hand and work together to a common goal. No two days are the same, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, but also a good amount of routine.

The service is a 24/7 environment, with full time hours either 8am-8pm for days or 8pm-8am for nights.  Part-time hours are a combination of early shifts (8am-2pm) and late shifts (2pm-8pm). Both positions are across the full week so there are no set days in which you will work, with weekends included on a rota.

You’ll join our teams that support people who have complex rehabilitation needs such as tracheostomies / ventilated / peg feeds and who have extensive and long-term rehabilitation goals. In some cases, people’s mobility and speech can be affected and we work closely with a range of other services including wheelchair, speech and alternative communication aid providers.

Things that you will have:

  • A relevant nursing qualification
  • NMC registration
  • Strong team-working skills
  • A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach
  • A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
  • A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice

Where you will be working

Gardens Neurological Centre and Jacobs Neurological Centre have a combined total of 132 beds on the same site in Sawbridgeworth (CM21 0HH), which is on the Hertfordshire and Essex border within easy travelling distance of London and Cambridge.

The two Centres deliver specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions, and brain or spinal injuries who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability.

Recovery is assisted wherever possible, with emphasis placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.

Each service has communal lounges, dining rooms, and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities with over 95% on single occupancy. All rooms are adapted to each resident's requirements according to their assessments and needs.

What you will get

  • Hourly rate of £20.88 (inc. 12.07% annual leave uplift)
  • Free meals and free parking
  • Two-week paid induction
  • App access to book shifts easily and quickly
  • Mandatory training
  • Wellbeing support and activities
  • Pension Contribution
  • Flexible working

There is also the option to progress into a permanent role to unlock additional benefits, including career development pathways to grow your career.
