Job description
If you care for others without a second thought and want to be a part of meaningful change, then join the team at Chadwick Lodge as a Ward Manager, where you’ll be the reason why lives change for the better.
You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team at Chadwick Lodge, which is a medium and low secure and locked services providing specialist treatment programmes for service users who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and have a history of offending behaviour.
As an experienced Registered Nurse from the NHS or private sector, you will lead, inspire and manage the teams on the wards to empower recovery.
With a team of junior and senior Nurses, Support Workers and a Deputy Ward Manager, you will design and deliver training and supervisions within a clinical environment using core skills in facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, teaching and delegation.
As a Ward Manager, you will work 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hour shifts) and will be responsible for overseeing ward budgets, clinical and nursing audits, the on-call service and will ensure procedures are being adhered to as you support people to build a brighter future.

You will work 37.5 hours a week between the hours of 09.00am to 17.00pm

- Supporting the implementation of local Clinical Governance Strategy
- Satisfactory fulfilment of core competencies
- Manage the achievements and maintenance of the Care Standards Act
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- RMN/RMNH
- Experience working in a similar environment
- Experience as a Senior Nurse/Charge Nurse
- Relevant sufficient post-registration experience

You will be working at Chadwick Lodge and Eaglestone View, a medium and low secure and locked services providing specialist treatment programmes for service users who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and have a history of offending behaviour.
The service offer a broad spectrum of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, involving service users at every stage. The hospital’s consultant-led multidisciplinary team has a wealth of clinical and research experience in forensic psychiatry. All programmes are designed to reduce the risk of re-offending and to maximise the potential and enhance the quality of life of each service user.
Chadwick Lodge secure services care for service users with complex and enduring mental illness who need to achieve stability in order to benefit from multidisciplinary interventions, helping them move on to community settings whenever possible.
