Lead Platform Architect – Customer Security Platform

HSBC WPB is supporting very high customer volume across all HSBC markets globally. Channel transformation is responsible to support CIAM, customer security for all digital channels.
Purpose of the role
The Lead Platform Architect for Customer Security platform will report in to Chief Architect, Enabler platforms, helping to shape the future of Customer security and Anti-Fraud platform (CS&AF) within WPB HSBC.
Enterprise IAM (EIAM) and Customer IAM (CIAM) are key foundational areas of the Security Architecture portfolio that are critical to the transformation of HSBC. The head of CS&AF Architect will lead and provide support to Enabler Platform Architecture leadership on all the customer and enterprise IAM related workstreams, including Authentication (MFA, Passwordless), Risk based authentication, Authorization, privileged access PAM, identity and access governance, identity federation, secrets management, role-based access etc.
The key tenants of the Lead Platform Architect will be to have responsibility for two key aspects:

Enterprise Architecture: Define, maintain and own the IAM architecture strategy and roadmap, incorporating ZeroTrust as appropriate, ensuring alignment to other HSBC technology strategies and providing Design Authority sponsorship for major IAM initiatives across the WPB. Provide assurance of the Solutions Designs produced and support the Engineering teams in production of Execution plans in executing the Strategies.
- Solutions Architecture: Support WPB initiatives for any IAM related consultancies, strategies and guidance to in providing Center of Excellence (CoE) Solutions Architecture expertise in the production of Solution Designs.
This role will be responsible for:
- Supporting and Delivering strategy to the Enabler platform leadership in WPB through the production of architecture strategies for IAM and associated architecture artefacts (e.g. principles, standards, patterns and roadmaps) aligned to organisational needs and priorities.
- Lead the team of platform architects to introduce new practices, processes, operating model, techniques, products, services, technologies and standards where needed against identified use cases, via the appropriate governance bodies and in collaboration with WPB CS&AF Engineering function.
- Being influential across both HSBC’s business and technology executives to drive the realisation of our Technology strategy, whilst engaging with them to understand their business requirements, threats and risks in protecting business traffic and endpoints.
- Reporting to Chief architect, Enabler platform, this role will be working alongside the Enabler platform architecture leadership, CTO, CIO and the Cybersecurity executive team in WPB
