Within GBM, HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) works with corporate and institutional clients, in particular across the Asset Owners and Managers (AO&M) industry sectors. Effective Client Management across these institutions is critical in supporting and growing the SSv and wider MSS business. Therefore, we are currently seeking a professional to join our Institutional Sales & Client Management team in the role of: Client Executive, Asset Owners and Managers

An overview of the role is: to execute SSv growth plans and support the management and advocacy of our clients and help maintain the highest levels of client satisfaction. The role holder will primarily be responsible for the retention and growth of their client base.  C-suite client stakeholder management and internal stakeholder management across various functions, divisions and product partners is a critical element of the role.

The role has a hybrid working pattern allowing for home based and office-based working at HSBC offices at Canada Square, London, however will entail travel for client meetings, domestically and possibly internationally.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Create, maintain and execute detailed client plans alongside SSv Executive Committee stakeholders and broader GBM stakeholders
  • Maintain accountability for the identification, tracking and execution of growth opportunities across SSv products, in line with assigned targets and within profitability guidelines
  • Sponsor all new business approval submissions with accountability for all deal management, pipeline reporting and business approval processes and procedures
  • Build relationships with key C-suite client decision-makers and other industry influencers
  • Be the primary SSv advocate within the clients’ organisation, with oversight of service satisfaction and reference-ability
  • Collaborate extensively across the wider Bank to facilitate and explore cross selling opportunities, enhancing the HSBC franchise value with our client base
  • Maintain and enhance the reputation of MSS in the marketplace through external relationships, building a network of market intelligence with key industry participants and influencers
Requirements

To be successful you will demonstrate the following:

  • Track record in owning, maintaining and growing client relationships across securities services products as a trusted advisor with an ability to help define and execute client strategy
  • Ability to work with C-suite professionals as an ‘everyday’ element of your role
  • Detailed understanding of strategic commercial and contractual relationships, risks and mitigants and an ability to successfully navigate complex legal and commercial negotiations
  • Capable of managing an existing business portfolio, developing existing organic growth and originating new client relationships
  • Tenacity & drive to achieve personal goals whilst contributing to the wider team aims
  • Extremely strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Investment banking or securities services would be an advantage, however not critical
