Job Title: Strategic Cyber Intelligence Analyst

Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

 

Role Description:

CITA’s Strategic Cyber Intelligence team is responsible for managing, producing, and presenting high quality, evidence-based, cyber threat intelligence to inform decision makers in all parts of HSBC. The team produces several periodic reports including, but not limited to, daily, monthly, and quarterly threat reports. Additionally, the Strategic Cyber Intelligence team creates Situation Reports on various high profile and applicable external incidents or developments in the cyber threat landscape, as well as Strategic Intelligence Reports that provide higher level insight into cyber threats and trends which can be used to inform business stakeholders and policy decision makers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Production of clear, concise, and evidence-based cyber threat intelligence products for consumption by a wide variety of HSBC employees with varying levels of technical ability
  • Responsible for producing daily threat intelligence reports which explain external cyber incidents and events and their key takeaways for a variety of HSBC stakeholders
  • Identification of threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) from open source reporting, various external cyber incidents and how those TTPs may manifest against HSBC cyber defences
  • Plan, create, and conduct regular and ad hoc intelligence briefings on cyber threats and the threat landscape, general cyber topics, various CITA investigations, and more to audiences of varying levels of technical ability
  • Update and maintain the CITA Intelligence Portal, the internal website hosting all CITA intelligence products
  • Advising a variety of internal HSBC teams on cyber threats, trends, incidents, and more
Requirements

Essential Skillset/Experience:

  • Demonstrated research and analysis skills with direct applicability to cyber threat intelligence
  • Ability to produce grammatically correct and easily understood written products
  • Experience communicating research in the form of verbal briefings and presentations, tailoring the content and messages as needed
  • Ability to convey technical concepts clearly and accurately to non-technical audiences, often within the context of an external cyber incident or event
  • Good understanding of cyber security fundamentals, MITRE ATT&CK and how threat actor attack chains manifest
  • Ability to identify the key takeaways and/or lessons learned from external cyber incident or event where full details are likely unknown

 

The role will be based in Sheffield.
