The words Chef Manager and ‘social life’ don’t often go together. Well, not this time. With this job you will not work evenings, you will work 37.5 hours a week (5 from 7 days) shifts will cover both weekdays and weekends.  

You will be solely in charge of preparing and cooking meals for the staff and service users. You will also provide guidance and training to support your team.

It’s a calm and pleasurable working environment, where you’ll be able to manage your workload and enjoy creating meals. There’s a great social aspect to this role where you can interact with people outside the kitchen regularly. 

Where you will be working

Location: Rosebank House 32 Lower Henley Road, Caversham Reading RG4 5LE

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the completion of monthly audits of the catering provision to ensure standards are maintained
  • Ensure that the catering service meets the nutritional and dietary needs of the service users. 
  • Ensure the catering service provides meals to staff and company visitors in accordance with the Company policies and procedures
  • Take the lead in the production of a menu plan, providing a varied diet within budgetary restraints
  • Ensure that any maintenance and servicing of catering equipment or the environment is reported to Facilities Manager/maintenance

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar environment.
  • Management/Supervisory Qualification
  • Previous experience in delivering a service on mass.
  • Ability to lead and train a team.
