We are looking for a talented Head of Legal to join our vet business, reporting to our Legal Director & Deputy Company Secretary.

About the role

As Head of Legal, you will be responsible for all legal support across our vet business. The role offers a really varied workload, from overseeing third party contracts with key suppliers to managing the pipeline of new practice set ups/sales for our Partners. The role will work to support the senior leadership team on all legal matters, and work across our Partner estate to resolve any queries or matters.

You will also work closely with key business functions across the vet business including the operational, treasury, finance and partnerships teams.

It is an exciting time to join our vet business, as we continue on our growth journey. The role will offer you a number of strategic projects, supporting and working with a strong leadership team who have a clear vision.

About your experience

The Head of Legal role requires the following skills and experience:

• 8+ years PQE
• Corporate and commercial legal experience
• Experience with corporate joint venture documents would be beneficial
• Leadership skills, both from a stakeholder and line management perspective
• A resilient, commercial and pragmatic approach
• Outstanding communication skills
• Experience managing and working within budgets
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills
• The ability to prioritise and word within timescales, keeping key stakeholders updated
