We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Strategic Planning and Stress Testing – Scenario Analysis Manager.

You will sit within the Group Strategic Planning & Stress Testing (SP&ST) function, which is situated within Core Finance. The function is responsible for conducting Group-wide forecasting exercises, including the Financial Resource Plan (FRP), Group Internal Stress Tests (GIST), Reverse Stress Tests (RST), Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP), Regulatory Stress Tests (e.g. BoE’s ACS and SST), and more recently, Climate Change Scenario Analysis (e.g. BoE Climate Biennial Exploratory Scenario (CBES)). It is also responsible for conducting additional analysis to inform the Group’s strategic initiatives and risk management (e.g. identifying vulnerabilities and opportunities).

In this role, you will:

•    Support the development, implementation and usage of analytical applications and tools, e.g., automated MI dashboards, deep-dive analysis, what-if analysis, stress delta management, etc;
•    Supporting the Group Scenario Analysis team in analysing all Group-wide stress testing results and producing the Group Governance MI for communicating outcomes and implications to senior stakeholders;
•    As outputs are typically produced for senior stakeholders across the Group and regulators, you will need to be organised, meticulous, and innovative, with an eagerness to continuously learn and develop;
•    This role will offer fantastic opportunities for learning how HSBC’s performance is impacted under various scenarios and how this analysis can inform senior decision making. It will also help you develop your technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills with a significant amount of senior exposure.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Demonstrable depth of experience with hands-on coding in Python;
•    Proficient in Object Orientated Programming (OOP);
•    Experience in developing financial applications;
•    Background in finance, market or credit risk management or software engineering;
•    Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

The base location for this role is London and with a hybrid working pattern.
