We currently have a new vacancy for an Associate Director Advisory Product Specialist

The purpose of the role is to support HSBC on providing strategic and financing advice to Global Banking clients. The role involves providing pro-active support in deepening client relationships and improving income generation through focused business development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support on business origination for clients in the UK
  • Contribute to the continued development of the business in line with the Global Banking and specifically the UK team’s strategy
  • Contribute to the identification and targeting of new relationships
  • Ensure prompt and appropriate response to customer enquiries and internal reporting requirements.
  • Support senior management in identifying strategies to maintain / enhance overall relationship return and ensure early identification of potential issues
  • Develop a strong country/product expertise to support advice to clients
  • Engage with relevant product teams (in particular M&A, sector, ECM and DCM) to ensure coordinated approach towards achieving client development objectives.
  • Identify marketing opportunities, undertaking appropriate analysis and preparation of proposals, presentations and pitches for new products and services.
  • Collaborate with others across GBM to achieve the overall goals of the team and HSBC.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved.
  • Undertake all required activities as directed by line manager, or as agreed in annual objectives, in support of achieving the business objectives of Global Banking
  • Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles.
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and under time pressure
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and perform to the highest standards.
  • Ability to research and propose themes for business development
  • Proven ability in managing junior resources
  • Driving execution of mandates for clients and strong client rapport
Requirements
  • Proven Investment banking or accounting background at VP or equivalent level
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Strongly proficient in financial modelling and valuation with the ability to assist junior team members in learning
  • Detailed knowledge with common databases (such as Bloomberg, Factset, Factiva, etc)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to undertake in depth review of industry, competitors, client and products
  • Knowledge of the full spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services
  • Ability to demonstrate capacity to build a network of contacts, both internal and external, in the context of interactions with colleagues and clients
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player
