Assistant Financial Accountant in Chester House, Epsom Ave, Handforth, Cheadle, Greater Manchester, SK9 3DF

About the Role

As an Assistant Financial Account, you will be preparing and developing balance sheet reconciliations, and journal posting, as well as dealing with internal auditors and external accountants in relation to practice queries. You will need to either be a part qualified accountant or qualified by experience. Advanced Excel skills are essential and knowledge of other MS Office applications. You will need previous exposure working within an accounts environment, and dealing with reconciliations, and journal processing. You will report into the Financial Accountant and work within a team of 8 Financial Accountants/Assistant Financial Accountants.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and developing balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings.
• Dealing with internal auditor and external accountants in relation to practice queries.
• Working with the group team to develop processes and to implement ‘best practice’.
• Implementing internal audit recommendations and supporting the internal audit process.
• Working with the JVCos on their stock count process and journaling/reconciling balances.
• Investigating and responding to queries from the Business Partnering team and other internal stakeholders.
• High level reviews of general ledger balances.
• Project work e.g. data migration.

About You

• Part-qualified Accountant / Qualified by experience
• Advanced Excel skills are essential, and knowledge of other MS Office applications is required
• Ability to work at pace and have a high level of organisational skills
• Be able to deliver a high level of customer service
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage strict deadlines
• Effective communicator at all levels, must be able to communicate financial concepts in a simple and easy to understand manner to non-financial partners and colleagues
