Job Title: Lead Security Tooling SME / Consultant Specialist

Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

 

Role Description:

The role will report to the CSAT Engineering Security Tooling Manager and is responsible for ensuring multiple application security capabilities are fully functional and integrated within the global cybersecurity systems and processes and that they meet the needs of the end users. This could be Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Container Scanning, or other application security tools. The role will partner heavily with the Cybersecurity, IT, Digital and business teams to support the end-to-end secure deployment of security technologies across HSBC.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Managing the technical content and relationship with the vendor, and providing technical input/ commercial knowledge to the HSBC Third Party Engagement Manager.

·         Managing end user queries from triage to test and deployment of patches to production.

·         Managing the end user on boarding process for all application types.

·         Ensuring the tool set is up to date, developed and deployed in line with vendor and HSBC roadmaps.

·         Supporting the IT Service Owner, acting as their delegate and managing the technical aspects of the service.

·         Driving the strategy of the product to ensure that the vendor is aware of HSBC requirements and that they are incorporated into the product roadmap.

·         Providing key representation for and as a subject matter expert on all issues associated with the tool set within the HSBC development communities.

·         Ensuring information security requirements are adhered to globally by ensuring effective compliance and measures are in place the application to meet HSBC requirements.

·         Providing support to other Tooling SMEs within the CSAT Engineering team and able to deputise when needed.

·         Collaborating with other team members to drive the implementation of the enterprise wide and regional / business level IT Strategy.

Requirements

Essential Skillset/Experience:

·         Experience of working with application security tools (e.g. DAST/ SAST/ MAST/ Container Security)

·         Good experience working with Containerization technologies like Docker along with Container Orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.  Additional experience of Deployment of these technologies would greatly beneficial.

·         Experience of Vulnerability Scanning/ Pen Testing/ Red Teaming.

·         Debugging skills (Stack traces, log files, and other system outputs).

·         Ability to write scripts (Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell).

·         Good understanding of networking (including TCP/ IP, Subnetting, Firewalls).

·         Good understanding of SQL (including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle).

·         Ability to build strong relationships and communicate on complex IT Security issues with a wide spectrum of stakeholders; (dev teams within the business units, other cyber teams).

 

The role will be based in Sheffield.
