Looker Business Intelligence Developer in Birmingham

Job description

Role Purpose:

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Looker Developer.

The purpose of the role is to design, develop and deploy multi-dimensional reports & dashboards using Looker and other BI packages within UK Commercial Banking.

Your responsibilities will include:

•    Assist the business in building multiple Looker dashboards to agreed UI standards and using standardised processes for ingestion and validation of data sources.
•    Responsible for receiving requirements from the Business, sense checking their validity, building, testing and ultimately releasing changes into Production in an Agile manner.
•    Delivering well structured, maintainable and fully tested dashboards to time and budget
•    Develop Proof of Concepts to support business requirements validation
•    Work with team members on data modelling, data cleansing and mapping tasks
•    Support developed dashboards remediating bugs or supporting resolution of data related queries
•    Working independently and as part of a team to design, develop, test and implement dashboards
•    Mentoring other members in the department where appropriate, providing guidance and knowledge transfer
•    Working with global development, analysis & test teams to ensure deliverables fulfil business requirements and quality levels.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Able to procure dashboard requirements from Stakeholders and Perform KPI analysis.
•    Handling Caching and PDTs in Looker with performance optimization.
•    Creating Projects, Models, Explores and Views with Custom Dimensions and Measures
•    Securing data and dashboard in Looker with access grants/access filters and user attributes.
•    Ability to Write advanced SQL queries.
•    Handling Code Deployment & Version Control in Looker and Git.
•    Will have a proven track record delivering Looker applications gained through several large-scale projects
•    Experience in optimising reporting tools: developing dashboards which are user friendly, fast and easy to use.
•    Will have experience working with complex data structures, in a high pressure environment for senior business people
•    Hands on working experience of working on an Agile project
•    Experience working with offshore development, analysis & test teams
•    Experience in data visualisation and presenting data.

The base location for this role can be Birmingham or London with Hybrid working.
