Global Head of Wholesale Technology Service Operations –

Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
We are currently seeking a bold and experienced Global Head of Wholesale Technology to join the team
In this role you will:· Engaging all relevant stakeholders (CIOs, Service Management Practice Head, Infrastructure Management Head etc.) to maintain visibility on their service availability, operability metrics, risk appetite, incidents and control effectiveness and to provide robust challenge to the same audience when risk appetites are threatened and instigate the incident process when risk appetite is breached
· Acting as a conduit to the Service Management Practice as a whole from the Technology team, and ensuring that operability requirements are given appropriate focus throughout the development and operations lifecycle
· Ensuring an effective engagement process is in place that demonstrably adds value to all target stakeholders
· Collaborating across DevOps teams to ensure consistency, and continuously improve Service Management Process execution
· Provide guidance and help to DevOps teams in relation to Service Management Processes to balance speed to market against operability, stability and availability
· Deliver significant and measurable value to business and technology by helping to reduce toil and incident volumes across Wholesale Technology
· Ensure the smooth operation of IT systems with clear ownership of issues, escalation of critical incidents and clear communications to business lines. Ensure there is appropriate follow-up on all incidents, so any lessons learnt are communicated and taken across all teams.
· Ensure due diligence and appropriate processes are followed across the Service Management estate with the objective of improving quality whilst increasing cost-effectiveness and achieving excellent levels of risk-management
· Proven experience in technology and demonstratable track record within management/leadership capacity.
· Proven record to drive Best Practices, enhance existing controls, deliver high quality metrics and analysis to increase production stability and resiliency and look for opportunities to automate manual processes.
· Proven record in managing large technology estates and production services teams.
· Strong people skills (change agent, decision making, influencing, management, communication)
· Manage all deliverables within Group’s guideline e.g., fitting the TOM, compliance to Global Standards, meeting Audit expectations.
· Ensure interoperability with other IT teams and applications especially infrastructure teams.
· Strong communicator and a natural diplomat
