Talent Consultant – Assistant Director - Global Executive UK Region  
Job Share, 3 days per week – Maternity Cover 14 Month Fixed Term Contract

 

Role Purpose and accountabilities
The Talent Consultant for the Global Executive UK Region is a trusted advisor to the business and supports the Executive Strategic Talent team in partnering with Global Executive leadership to meet the strategic imperatives of the business and provide commercial people-related advice and guidance to leadership and management

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Working seamlessly alongside your job share partner, with an allocated portfolio of the Executive Layer:

 

  • act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Talent Consultants and the business leaders across different countries and EY regions by building and maintaining influential relationships, to enable you to guide the business and co-develop solutions to meet their business needs, shifting thinking and embedding change where necessary 
  • partner with the Executive Talent Consultants on the preparation, delivery and implementation of global people change programmes and initiatives that have a direct impact on the UK Executive Layer population. Including, but not limited to: 
    • evaluating requests and initiatives before deciding an appropriate course of action
    • the preparation, project management, delivery and implementation of such programmes; 
    • leading on the provision of legal and commercial advice to the Executive stakeholders
    • lead/deliver the project management (and provide appropriate advice) on re-organisations, redundancy programs (including design of scoring and leading on collective consultation), TUPE, mergers and acquisitions etc. 
  • Ensure that all necessary operational and cyclical activity, including benchmarking, recruitment approvals, year end and pay planning are delivered in the most professional and effective manner ensuring consistency across the region
  • Lead with and add insights to data and people issues, building ideas/solutions to potential and emerging problems by:
    • developing a robust point of view on business decisions and their impact upon people,
    • proactively identifying actions and initiatives that will continue to enhance the service delivery and deliver a positive employee experience to the UK based Global Executive population 
  • Support the UK drive to be an inclusive employer valuing diversity and difference
  • Partner with the Executive Talent Consultants on the implementation of their people strategy including responding to the results of surveys and insights
  • Work with the Employee Relations and CAT (Counsellor Advice) teams on the escalation of complex ER cases 
  • Proactively identify development needs of key stakeholders/groups to improve their understanding of ER management, UK employment law and UK EY policies and procedures and deliver training/coaching to meet these development needs.  


Activities:

  • Manage relationships with stakeholders by setting expectations, communicating status, analysing issues, responding to concerns and providing support throughout the process by applying commercial and pragmatic thought to available solutions.
  • Ensure operational activities are managed in line with UK policies, process and deadlines (benchmarking, Recruitment approvals, policy exception requests, annual pay planning etc)
  • Lead and project manage organisational change programs where redundancies, reorganisations, TUPE, Mergers, acquisitions, or headcount restructures are proposed. Give advice on UK legislation and implications to stakeholders ensuring proposals are in line with both statutory and local business approaches. Liaise with and brief local Talent teams if additional support is required for consultation activity.
  • Coach and upskill business leaders and counsellors (including those based overseas) to enable ongoing effective management of their people in line with UK legislation, policies and processes. 
  • Analyse and identify trends and provide regular reporting to key stakeholders to establish potential root cause of identified trends and recommend actions/help to develop solutions.  
  • Provide advice and support on performance, occupational and psychological health issues and other related topics as required. 
  • share knowledge/lessons learnt on cases/programmes managed across UK Talent team.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experienced HR Manager with a proven track record of working in a complex matrix environment, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and complex situations and advise business leaders with limited support or guidance 
  • Professionally qualified. A post graduate qualification in a Business or Human Resource discipline is desirable
  • Proven ability to influence at all levels in the organisation, preferably in a professional services environment - Demonstrating ability to coach and advise partners/directors/ senior managers as well as junior colleagues
  • Solid experience of leading organisational change programmes and providing advice on complex redundancies, TUPE, capability management, disciplinaries, grievances, absence/OH cases, etc. 
  • Excellent knowledge of UK Employment Law and employee relations.
  • Current knowledge of Diversity and Inclusiveness practices and thought leadership
  • Experience of making a contribution to business decision making, strategic planning discussions and operational planning activities
  • Resilient, practical and a self-starter who is comfortable working with virtual teams in a global environment 
  • Evidence of having dealt with busy work-load in an organised manner, juggling multiple priorities and with attention to detail where there are competing demands on workload and deliverables #HRUK
