The Role:

Join the Wellness Futures team at Holland and Barrett as a Marketplace Trading Manager, and be part of our mission to make health and wellness a way of life for everyone. As a Digital Marketplace Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our vision forward, connecting external health and wellness services with our customers through an innovative digital marketplace.

Key Accountabilities:

 

Marketplace Development:

  • Identify and analyse market trends, customer demands, and competitor activities to formulate strategies for marketplace growth
  • Collaborate with the product and technology teams to develop and enhance the marketplace platform to meet evolving market needs and customer expectations
  • Work with the Growth Manager to initiate and implement marketing campaigns and promotions to attract new vendors and customers, ensuring the marketplace's continued expansion

Commercial Performance:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive commercial trading plans to achieve revenue and profit goals for the marketplace
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and overall marketplace performance
  • Work with the Head of Partnerships to identify opportunities for business growth and work closely with service providers and other partners to optimise the offering and pricing strategies
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, negotiating favourable terms and contracts to benefit the marketplace and all involved parties

Managing Operations:

  • Oversee day-to-day marketplace operations, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for vendors and customers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer support, logistics, finance, and legal, to resolve any operational issues promptly and effectively
  • Implement effective inventory management practices to optimise product availability and prevent stockouts
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies related to the wellness industry and e-commerce marketplaces

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team to support the growth and success of the wellness marketplace
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to drive individual and team development.

Location: Flexible + Hybrid – The Wellness Futures team is based out of our London office and a minimum of one day per week is required there. There may also be travel to our Head Office base in Nuneaton as well as stores and other events. There may also be occasional travel outside of the UK.  We're a global, digitally enabled business and we expect our colleagues to be self-driven and to determine the most appropriate place to work each day to meet the requirements of the role, achieve their best performance and optimum output.

The Person:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in e-commerce marketplace management or a related field.
  • Proven success in developing and executing strategic plans for revenue growth.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing, SEO, and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Experience with managing teams and creating a positive work environment.
  • Proactive and capable of making quick commercial decisions.
  • Outcome-oriented and comfortable working with OKRs.
  • Strong influencer and collaborator with the ability to build trust and credibility.
