The Role:

As the Head of Science, you will be at the heart of our scientific endeavors, responsible for research, innovation, and leadership. You will be a crucial link in bringing new scientific insights to our customers, ensuring that our offerings are evidence-based, effective, and of the highest quality.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Scientific Assessment & New Propositions

  • Research and provide insights on scientific innovations and emerging scientific trends in products and services.
  • Responsible for scientific horizon scanning and cascading input into H&B
  • Provide inputs on new areas of focus and development.
  • Review and support the classification of products and services by evidence base.
  • Test and validate offerings.
  • Refine current evidence-based framework and guiding principles

Research & Thought leadership.

  • Develop a research strategy and identify potential research partners/labs.
  • Develop, implement, and lead scientific research studies and when required, work with research groups to support H&B strategy.
  • Responsible for external and internal thought leadership content
  • Participate in and attend scientific conferences.

Location:   

We have bases in Nuneaton, London and Burton, and some travel may be required to all locations.  There may also be occasional travel outside of the UK.  We're a global, digitally enabled business and we expect our colleagues to be self-driven and to determine the most appropriate place to work each day to meet the requirements of the role, achieve their best performance and optimum output. 

 

The Person:
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in nutrition or related fields.
  • Over 10 years of experience in scientific research and innovation.
  • Background in vitamins, supplements, food, or related industries.
  • Experience in scientific consulting or industry innovation labs.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independent, proactive, and collaborative work style.
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of leading projects and collaborating within a senior team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Motivated to become an expert consultant in your field.
