As the Head of Science, you will be at the heart of our scientific endeavors, responsible for research, innovation, and leadership. You will be a crucial link in bringing new scientific insights to our customers, ensuring that our offerings are evidence-based, effective, and of the highest quality.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Scientific Assessment & New Propositions
- Research and provide insights on scientific innovations and emerging scientific trends in products and services.
- Responsible for scientific horizon scanning and cascading input into H&B
- Provide inputs on new areas of focus and development.
- Review and support the classification of products and services by evidence base.
- Test and validate offerings.
- Refine current evidence-based framework and guiding principles
Research & Thought leadership.
- Develop a research strategy and identify potential research partners/labs.
- Develop, implement, and lead scientific research studies and when required, work with research groups to support H&B strategy.
- Responsible for external and internal thought leadership content
- Participate in and attend scientific conferences.
Location:
We have bases in Nuneaton, London and Burton, and some travel may be required to all locations. There may also be occasional travel outside of the UK. We're a global, digitally enabled business and we expect our colleagues to be self-driven and to determine the most appropriate place to work each day to meet the requirements of the role, achieve their best performance and optimum output.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in nutrition or related fields.
- Over 10 years of experience in scientific research and innovation.
- Background in vitamins, supplements, food, or related industries.
- Experience in scientific consulting or industry innovation labs.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Independent, proactive, and collaborative work style.
- Strong leadership skills, capable of leading projects and collaborating within a senior team.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Motivated to become an expert consultant in your field.
