Are you a qualified and ambitious accountant looking for an exciting opportunity to excel in a dynamic team? We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Accountant to join our team of 8 professionals, reporting to the Accounting Services Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of financial tasks, including overseeing period end accruals, prepayments, and bank postings for the Joint Venture Cos. You will also manage a team of 2 Assistant Financial Accountants and act as the technical expert for small company accounts within the Business Partnering Team and other departments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Ownership of period end accruals, prepayments, and bank postings for the Joint Venture Cos.

· Management of a team of 2 Assistant Financial Accountants, including performance reviews and day-to-day management.

· Acting as the technical expert on small company accounts for the Business Partnering Team and other teams within the business.

· Reviewing and challenging Assistant Financial Accountants’ reconciliations and postings.

· Reconciling key balance sheet accounts across Joint Venture Cos.

· Collaborating with the Support Office finance team to develop processes and implement best practices.

· Proactively developing and implementing internal controls and processes.

· Implementing internal audit recommendations and supporting the internal audit process.

· Managing the stock count process across Joint Venture Cos.

· Investigating and responding to queries from the Business Partnering team and other internal stakeholders.

· Conducting high-level reviews of general ledger balances.

· Handling ad hoc project work as required.

 

 

Requirements for the Role:

· Qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA with prior experience in an accounts environment applying accounting standards.

· Strong Excel skills are essential, and proficiency in other MS Office applications is a must.

· Highly organized and proactive with excellent attention to detail.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment while meeting tight deadlines.

· Results-oriented with a focus on task completion and the ability to see projects through.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize competing deadlines effectively.

Educational Background:

· Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

 

Skills & Knowledge:

· Advanced Excel skills are essential, and knowledge of other MS Office applications is required.

· Ability to work at a fast pace with excellent organizational skills.

· Adept at delivering a high level of customer service.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to prioritize workload and manage strict deadlines.

· Experience in line management of 2/3 individuals.
