Are you a proactive and analytically-minded finance professional with a passion for making a real impact in a fast-paced retail environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Commercial Finance Analyst at our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.

As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Commercial Team by providing financial insights, analysis, and reporting to drive informed decision-making. Reporting directly to the Commercial Finance Manager, you will be responsible for various financial activities, including weekly trading sales and margin reporting, stock and margin analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and interpret weekly trading sales, margin, and supply chain reports, identifying key performance drivers and recommending action plans to address areas of underperformance.
• Develop and maintain commercial models to provide insight on performance and trends related to stock and underlying margins.
• Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs, provide support, and influence decision-making.
• Collaborate with the wider Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely period end sales and margin reporting.
• Contribute to monthly reporting and analysis, including insights for Commercial Business Review and Board Packs.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis on underperforming areas, working with stakeholders to develop effective action plans for performance improvement.
• Assist in the preparation and input of budgets, forecasts, and risk and opportunity assessments.
• Provide support during audits related to stock and margin.

Skills Required:

• You must be working towards and Accountancy (CIMA or equivalent) finance professional.
• Previous experience in a Commercial Finance role, ideally within the retail industry.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including experience with Sumifs, pivot tables, and graphs.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-changing commercial environment.
• A collaborative team player with the ability to build strong relationships across departments.
