International Social Security Services Consultant - People Advisory Services - UK&I (London)

Ernst & Young's International Social Security (ISS) Practice is the number one global provider of social security services. The current dedicated ISS team based in London includes ex-social security administration staff, qualified accountants, and tax advisors with backgrounds in expatriate tax, immigration, and assignment management. The Group manages a global range of Social Security advisory and compliance work relating to individuals moving to and from the UK and between any other two country combinations throughout the world.

 

Your key responsibilities 

  • To assist in the coordination of International Social Security service delivery to several multinational clients. The post will entail responsibility for overseeing aspects of the established ISS advisory practice EY offers its clients, including:
  • Accurate and timely maintenance of tracking databases and dealing with day-to-day queries from internal and external customers relating to the process.
  • Day-to-day responsibility in managing the ISS client mailbox, ensuring delivery of "Core" Global ISS compliance services.
  • Responsibilities will include responding to (internal and external) emails within the agreed timeframe.
  • Be able to use ISS web-enabled tools to deliver compliance and advisory services.
  • Be expected to develop a broad technical knowledge of International Social Security matters to enable them to facilitate the compliance process, identify problems, source solutions and, ultimately, be practical and client focused.
  • Become technically competent in ISS regulations (UK, EU, and Totalisations) and awareness of ISS domestic regulations of other countries globally.
  • Managing Out of Scope request databases.
  • Drafting complex certificate of coverage (CoC) applications.
  • Responsible for financial tasks relating to client engagements including drafting of overall summary of financial positions, monthly fee schedules, invoices, credit notes, and resolving accounts receivable queries.
  • Delivering management reports on their accounts.
  • Delivering ISS Business Intelligence reporting on their accounts.
  • Draft ISS technical advice regarding social security compliance obligations and opportunities on a global basis.
  • Provide social security/Benefits/Healthcare advice to clients and/or assignees, which may be by telephone and email.
  • Liaise with Government departments in both the UK and internationally.
  • Draft correspondence to clients and take on ad hoc projects. 

 

Skills and attributes for success

You will have extremely strong coordination skills, be meticulous in detail, self-motivated with strong influencing and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task. The ability to work in small teams as well as actively able to contribute to the overall larger Group is essential. Your ability to deliver accurately to tight deadlines whilst managing stakeholder relationships will be a result of your excellent organizational and project management skills. A strong case management skill set is beneficial.

Experience in a client service environment in Expatriate Tax / NIC / Payroll would be beneficial although this is not essential.
