From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end-to- end solutions designed to help small businesses reach their potential.

We are seeking a proactive and customer focused person to join this team in the role of Agriculture Relationship Manager.

The Agriculture Relationship Management role provides dedicated relationship management to an agricultural portfolio of customers with accountability for sales, service, risk and operational delivery. This role will have internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders may include Sales, Product Development, Risk & Compliance teams. The remit may range from an area within a country or multiple countries.

Your responsibilities will include:

•    Build a strong external professional network to enable you to attract new customers to HSBC UK.
•    Focus on growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network Drive revenue growth through understanding customer needs and by adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business
•    Collaborate with Group colleagues to deliver appropriate needs-based solutions for customers
•    Build a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes
•    Deepen understanding of the client through pro-active credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews. Lending experience is essential
•    Confidently manage financial crime risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk, ensuring adherence to all applicable operational risk HSBC Standards and policies, reporting any breaches in accordance with local procedures 
•    Keep abreast of developments, products and offerings from HSBC, competitors and market changes 
•    Demonstration of HSBC UK principles of treating customers fairly

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

•    Commercial Banking or commercial business experience with an understanding of different business structures 
•    Agricultural or Relationship Management experience would be advantageous
•    Commercial lending experience is essential as well as experience of reading and interpreting financial accounts and writing credit applications
•    An understanding of Financial Crime, operational risk and a willingness to learn and adhere to HSBC’s Risk Standards and policies
•    An understanding of credit risk
•    Good written and verbal communication skills, enabling productive dialogue with internal and external customers and the wider agricultural community
•    An ability to gather, analyse and interpret financial accounts and comprehensive information and apply knowledge to submitting strong credit papers
•    Planning, influencing and organisational skills in order to manage the unexpected as well as anticipated issues or events, so that success can still be achieved

This is a hybrid role requiring travel across Worcestershire and the surrounding area. A full UK driving licence is essential to attend face to face customer meetings throughout this business location.
