About the role
Are you a seasoned financial professional with a passion for driving business growth through meticulous planning, analysis and strategic collaboration? We are seeking an experienced FP&A Manager to join our dynamic team and take charge of financial planning, analysis and reporting for our Vets business.
As FP&A Manager, your goal will be to support our Vet Business in making informed and effective decisions to achieve long-term success. You will have line management responsibility for one colleague and you will be required to work on a hybrid basis out of our Handforth (Cheshire) Support Office.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Period End Close – Cost
- Full period end close for overheads & capital expenditure, including calculation of accruals & prepayments
- Period variance analysis versus budget / reforecast
- Production of reports to be shared with cost centre owners and the Vet leadership team
Forecasting Cycle
- Working with stakeholders to prepare annual budget & bi-annually reforecasts
- Long range cost planning as part of the 5-year strategic plan
Business Partnering
- Building partnerships & maintaining strong relationships with around 20 functional stakeholders
- Presenting periodically to the Vet leadership team on cost variances
CAPEX Tracking and Reporting
- Analysing and categorising all capex spend
- Identifying any potential opex spend incorrectly categorised as capex (IFRIC)
- Periodic reporting process producing updates on YTD spend & forecast spend for the remainder of the year
About you
- Qualified (or about to qualify) accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Working either in industry or practice
- Experience of business partnering with stakeholders
- Experience of Forecasting, Month End Accounting Processes (accruals, prepayments, etc.) and Reporting (variance analysis)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Would need to be able to comfortably use formulas like: ‘xlookup’, pivot tables, ‘match’ formulae, ‘sumifs’, etc
- Good Microsoft PowerPoint skills - primary output of responsibilities are PowerPoint presentations
- Experience of people management is desirable
- Experience of working to set deadlines with a track record of delivering high-quality work
- A hardworking & proactive approach
- A desire to learn and can grasp concepts quickly
- Able to build relationships with the finance team and wider business
- An organised and efficient approach
