IT Service Owner

Technology teams in the UK work closely with our global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. They also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

 

Role Description:

You will join our dedicated team in Distributed Compute responsible for Product Management and IT Service Ownership. IT Service Ownership maintains effective controls of the services supporting the Linux, Windows, and Virtualisation infrastructure in HSBC.

 

Working to rapidly respond to Cybersecurity control requirements as and when they arise, the Candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Book of Work in relation to Distributed Compute’s IT Services.

You will work with key stakeholders to provide sustainable Capacity Planning and ensure Compliance with Operational and Audit Requirements

Our purpose and vision is to provide industry leading Service Governance and Management of the Solutions and Infrastructure which support HSBC’s global business through a collaborative and standardised approach, with the primary goal to keep production safe and maintain effective control of the Distributed Compute IT estate.

Responsibilities:

·         Work with Colleagues Adopt ways of working and behaviours that ensure end to end Application / Service are secure and up to date.

·         Support and Guide Colleagues who are ITSOs and Delegates understand remit of their role and where other team members, stakeholders outside of their team contribute to their accountability of end-to-end service / applications.

·         Collaborate with IT Control Owners (Group and Federated) to reference Accountability and Responsibility consistently across controls.

·         Guide Stakeholders across technology (Regions, Functions, Businesses, Programmes) in activities involved in maintaining effective control of HSBC IT Estate.

·         Liaise with Business Owners to discuss and document outstanding Risks and Issues, acknowledge or accept with associated remediation plans.

·         Engage with Strategy programmes to simplify and automate Control Task activities which will achieve the outcomes of reducing manual attestation activities, and transitioning towards Automated Assurance.

·         Consult with and obtain guidance collaboration from architects, project teams, Production support and Engineering teams.

·         Drive and consolidate the reduction of infrastructure complexity.

·         Ensure service quality targets are met for offered services.

·         Support Product management to define product roadmaps.

Role will be based in Sheffield – Hybrid working 

Requirements

Essential Skillset/Experience:

 

·         Previous project management experience within IT finance functions/projects

·         Experience maintaining effective control of the end to end Service / Application

·         Strong communicator, effective when working with stakeholders and be a key decision maker.

·         Know how to navigate Risk & Control Frameworks
