Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Chester House, Epsom Ave, Handforth, Cheadle, Greater Manchester, SK9 3DF Based in our Handforth (Cheshire) offices 3 days per week.

We are seeking a talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Group Infrastructure team, focusing on both cloud and on-premises technologies.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Support and Maintenance: Perform day-to-day actions, maintenance, and configuration of our platforms.
• Mentorship: Act as a senior engineer within the team, providing coaching and support to peers.
• Supplier Engagement: Manage relationships with suppliers, including support and billing.
• Design and Best Practices: Contribute to the design of infrastructure solutions, following industry best practices.
• Documentation and Monitoring: Create and maintain documentation, implement monitoring solutions, and ensure proactive issue management.
• Project Support: Provide support for project delivery and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Requirements

Support and Maintenance:

• Provide support for BAU and project-related infrastructure services.
• Act as the point of contact for infrastructure issues, incidents, or problems.
• Understand all aspects of configuration and technical/functional capabilities.
• Ensure thorough management of issues and incidents, involving the wider Group IT teams when necessary.
• Prepare run and test reports to maintain platform health.
• Drive process automation to maximize the organisation's capabilities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, Operations, and Data Teams to implement proactive monitoring.

Governance:

• Manage 3rd-party relationships to ensure suppliers meet or exceed SLAs.
• Conduct regular internal system audits.
• Understand capacity and run costs associated with the environments.

Enhance and Improve:

• Collaborate with Implementation teams to enhance and improve infrastructure solutions.

 Essential Experience, Knowledge & Expertise

• Ownership of complex Active Directory installations, including design, backup, upgrades, and management.
• Thorough understanding and experience with Microsoft Azure, including Office 365, VMware, and Windows Server 2008-2019.
• Strong experience with Azure AD, including MFA.
• Proficiency in Powershell for user management.
• Supplier management experience.
• Familiarity with cloud billing and monitoring.
• Support and deployment experience with Azure and AWS.
• Documentation skills, including high-level diagrams.
• 2nd/3rd line support experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience at a similar level.
• Microsoft Azure Administrator certification.
• Microsoft 365 Certified certification.

Location: Based in our Handforth (Cheshire) offices 3 days per week.
