We are currently seeking an individual to join Global Research in the role of UK Economist to work with our award-winning team of UK economists.  

The primary purpose of this role is to support our Senior UK Economists analyse the developments in the UK economy, with a focus on those most relevant to our large base of UK corporate clients – particularly SMEs, who are hungry for this analysis.  The role will communicating views to both internal and external stakeholders.  This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced, dynamic and highly-rated economics team.  

In this role, you will:
•    Publish original analysis on the UK economy, with a focus on topics most relevant to corporate clients. 
•    Communicate the economic outlook clearly and concisely to a wide range of stakeholders.  
•    React quickly to UK data releases with short notes to clients that set out the facts and implications of the news.   
•    Help develop macroeconomic forecasts for the UK economy and provide input to the wider European and Global economic view.  
•    Receive unparalleled on-job training from a team of highly experienced economists.   

Requirements


•    Able to engage both experts and non-economists with excellent written communication and confident presentational skills.  
•    Proven track record of macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, including working with economic time series and financial market data.
•    Self-starting nature with a passion for economics.  
•    Previous experience in a policymaking institution, think tank, corporate or financial institution.  
•    Postgraduate qualification in economics or equivalent work experience
