Senior Scientist (Nutrition & Health Science) (26976) in London

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide scientific input to enhance our solutions:

  • Contribute to reinforcing the science-based development of H&B products through the development of scientific dossiers and scientific assessment of existing and new solutions & products.
  • Guide & support the product development team in providing scientific and evidence-based insights into formulations, and claims. 

2. Documentation & Publication:

  • Develop scientific guiding principles for a variety of projects.
  • Maintain meticulous records of scientific dossiers, scientific research methodologies, data, and findings.
  • Analyse and interpret complex data sets to derive meaningful scientific insights.
  • Utilise statistical techniques and software tools to validate research findings.
  • Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at conferences to position the company as a thought leader in the health and wellness space.

3. Research & Development:

  • Build, lead and execute scientific research projects related to health and wellness.
  • Establish a scientific program dedicated to  drive innovation and validation of new and existing health and wellness solutions
  • Collaborate with external research partners, academic institutions, and consultants when required.

 4.Team Collaboration & Mentorship:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including learning & development, product development, marketing, and regulatory affairs, and other functions to integrate scientific insights into our solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to provide accurate and compelling scientific information for product labels, promotional materials, articles, and campaigns.
  • Mentor colleagues from other functions and provide scientific guidance on existing and future projects.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.
  • Contribute to departmental strategic planning and goal setting.
  • Serve as a scientific expert, communicating research findings both internally and externally.
  • Attend and present at scientific conferences, workshops, and webinars.

Location: 

This role operates in a hybrid capacity, with Hubs in London and Nuneaton. However this role is predominantly London based. and we typically anticipate colleagues spending approximately two days per week in the office. Occasional travel to the Nuneaton office and other locations will also be required. As a globally connected and digitally enabled organisation, we encourage our colleagues to be self-driven, determining the most suitable workspace daily to fulfil role requirements and achieve optimal performance and output.

The Person:

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (Ph.D. preferred) ideally nutrition science, public health, nutrition & physiology.  
  • 5-8 years of experience in health and wellness, especially in food & supplements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines related to health and wellness products.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects.
