You will work as part of a team supporting service users with primary diagnoses of autism and learning disabilities across North West London with a focus on life skills and community participation. We accept experienced graduates, professionals from other disciplines interested in supporting teenagers and young adults in their home and local community, and candidates who have previously worked in ABA or PBS settings. Beam ABA Services support individuals with autism and learning disabilities.We offer globally-recognised, industry-accredited training and support to give you the confidence and skills necessary to help make a significant positive difference to the lives of young people. You will be fully supervised and should be available to work some evenings and weekends. We require all Beam staff to adhere to our Code of Conduct.Please note: We are currently unable to offer sponsorship.RequirementsDutiesTo assist in the implementation of person centred programmes utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practiceTo support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, enhancing social skills under a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment.To monitor and take accurate data daily as per service users' targetsTo support individuals during times of crisis - e.g., challenging behaviour.To ensure all programme materials are organised and accessibleTo assist service user with self-help skills including personal care and hygiene needs (e.g., toileting, nappy changing, feeding, bathing, nail cutting, and medication)To model best practice and professionalism at all timesTo attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self-directed e-learning modulesTo promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service user to the highest standardTo implement restrictive techniques per service users positive handling plan as requiredFlexibility to support service user during evenings and weekendsOther duties as required by your managerRequired qualifications and skills6 months of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autismClean driver's licensePreferred qualificationsUndergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field1+ year of applied experience working with special needs populationExperience of managing challenging behaviourExperience utilising ABA methodologyIND-BST-LBenefitsFull-time positions are available, paid at an hourly rate of £12.05-£14 depending on qualifications and experience, Immediate salary for full-time staff from £21,931- £25,480 based on 35 hour working week - overtime hours available.
