The Role The role is critical to ensuring that Carnival UK meets its supervisory, guest and employee expectations for personal data handling, and to provide subject matter expertise for enquiries about data protection and privacy matters within Carnival UK. Maintain and operate the process to respond to information rights requests and enquiries from law enforcement agencies and other authorities Escalate significant personal data related risks and exceptions to line management or the Data Protection Officer as required Participate with a wider team in project, procurement and other business processes to identify and capture changes in data processing Accurately screen, redact and record reasoning for withholding personal data in line with applicable legal, regulatory and sectoral requirements

Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK10 and is offered on a full time 18month FTC basis, with 3 day a week hybrid working in our Southampton office. (Secondment option for internal colleagues)

About You

Alongside bringing these to the role, you’ll also need: Understanding of delivering privacy and data protection within a large organisation Experience in handling information rights requests and managing data subject demands Experience in operating and improving processes, data flows and procedural documentation Understanding of risk, and good practice in identifying, recording and communicating risk Understanding of UK and European privacy and data protection laws, concepts and best practices Degree-level education in a relevant subject, or demonstrable equivalent professional experience
