Fantastic opportunity to join a growing business with multiple tailwinds, focus on technically rewarding transactions with EMEA’s most exciting Fintech credit originators and other balance sheet constrained companies. Existing team has a broad spectrum of skills developed from experience working at IBs, rating agencies, specialist commercial banks and Fintech loan originators. You will support the Warehouse Finance team in underwriting and managing warehouse facilities for Fintech clients in EMEA by supporting key aspects of credit analysis, transaction structuring, term sheet / legal documentation negotiation, and obtaining credit support. You will support activities such as data tape analysis, financial performance analysis and various due diligence processes to design and recommend deal structures that satisfy client needs whilst balance the needs of the bank.

 

Responsibilities:

      Support the structuring, underwriting and closing of warehouse facilities by supporting the creation of credit papers, cashflow modelling, collateral analysis, term sheets, financial models and deal structures

      Support the end-to-end process including engaging with clients/prospects, internal stakeholders, (e.g. relationship management, credit, legal) and external stakeholders (e.g. external counsel, credit partners) to ensure successful outcomes

      Support the existing portfolio of borrowers and communicate internally to recommend and execute on responses to changing situations for clients / across the portfolio broadly

      Work in an open and collaborative manner with other team members

      Build client relationships in the Fintech space

Requirements

Specialist Skills:

      Financial modelling and structuring asset backed facilities

      Ability to build cashflow models

      Perform portfolio collateral analysis

      Knowledge across asset classes such as invoice financing, credit cards, consumer and commercial lending is a plus

      Experience working with early stage Fintech companies and startups is a positive

      Ability to work with the prospects to collate required due diligence information to assess new business opportunities

      Adept at working with large data pools to assess the quality and completeness of the information

      Exercises judgment and authority prudently and with proper balance for the best interests of the clients and HSBC Innovation Banking

 

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

      Quantitative Bachelor’s degree / CFA or equivalent education, or equivalent work experience specific to this role

      Structured finance experience from investment or commercial banks, specialised lenders, asset managers or rating agencies

      Ability to work independently in completing assigned duties

      Take accountability for bespoke activities with limited or minimal oversight

      Strong organizational and time management skills

      Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

      Demonstrates sound judgement and compliance with all regulatory and risk management requirements

      A keen interest in the technology sector and venture capital / private equity transactions
