The Job Youll Do; Review component designs in respect to manufacturability and achievement of tolerances and propose feasible solutions to problems. Chair meetings with assembly line integrators ensuring company Standards are adhered to; review and give clear feedback to their quotations. Interface with customers (OEM's) and present information on project deliverables and changes. Plan and manage facility buy-off activities and customer part builds. Maintain clear and concise communication with the relevant project team throughout the lifecycle of a project. Drive process improvements and where applicable implement new techniques and new technologies. Design, calculate and cost assembly facilities to ensure they meet both plant requirements and KPI targets. Chair meetings to engage and negotiate with internal customers/business units to form agreements on process design and equipment. Manage and progress multiple projects and suppliers against agreed customer timelines. Ensure KPI targets are met on all assembly facilities. Issue clear reports detailing project status and ensure any roadblocks are escalated appropriately. Produce and collate all project related documentation and ensure traceability is maintained. About You; A time served Apprentice or a Graduate in a related Engineering discipline, educated to a minimum of HND level. A strong understanding of Automotive OEM Customer Specific Standards, requirements and tolerances. An ability to perceive and counteract potential assembly issues specifically through product DFM reviews and tolerancing requirements. A high level of knowledge of BIW assembly welding fixture design and associated principles. An in depth understanding of BIW assembly processes. The ability to plan and manage ones own time and responsibilities and able to demonstrate experience of hands-on capability. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deliverables and suppliers working on concurrent timelines.
