Glendale Garage Ltd Glendale Garage Ltd, our very busy family run business are currently looking for an experienced Vehicle Workshop Manager/MOT Tester for our independent repair garage located in Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne. The successful applicant should have at a minimum Level 3 technical qualifications together with at least two years experience at supervisory level and will be fully experienced with all modern materials and procedures, together with the ability of producing a consistently high calibre of work and be totally committed to our excellent standards of customer care. Preferably you will also be a current fully qualified MOT Tester As an experienced Vehicle Workshop Manager/MOT Tester you will need to show; A good and varied technical knowledge. The ability to work without supervision and supervise our vehicle technicians You must be able to produce high quality work in a busy motor trade environment and be motivated through set targets, showing flexibility according to the needs of your team. You must hold a full clean driving licence, be a committed individual and be able to work well in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience of all car manufacturers. Job Description Liase with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and to discuss work to be performed. Estimate costs and time required for repair or maintenance of the vehicle. Plan, organize and coordinate the day-to-day running of the garage, e.g., by writing job/work orders and by arranging for garage staff to perform necessary maintenance and repair work on vehicles. Repair, maintain and service vehicles and their mechanical and electronic components. Ensure that necessary spare parts, materials and equipment are available or obtainable at short notice. Check the activities in the garage, inspect completed work for compliance with safety and other statutory regulations, and make sure defects are repaired or adjusted. Produce customer invoices for repair/service/fault work, and make reports to detect recurrent faults Make sure the vehicle is returned to the owner in a clean and decent state. Provide information for staff about latest developments, technical specifications of new cars, garage merchandise, etc. Salary is competitive dependent on qualifications and experience.
