Resident Engineer
Description: The client is a major automotive steering system supplier based in Europe, and due to expansion requires an engineer to support its activities in the UK at its customers and suppliers sites.
The successful candidate will be involved with a variety of tasks within the role, but the main responsibilities will be as follows:
Build up and keep good personal relationships between the company and its customers & suppliers, including meetings at the clients sites/plants
Report any concerns of the clients customers back to the client & provide information searches for the client
Advise on engineering designs of components & cost saving opportunities
Support quality issues, projects and current business
Assist in the resolution of commercial issues which are caused by Quality or Engineering Changes, to protect the Companys liability
Releasing parts in the Engineering Release System specified by the Client or its customers.
Participation in customer support with on-site job and ensuring a strong connection to the clints development centers in Europe
Supporting the clients customer during vehicle application of clients systems and to control, tune and validate these products as required
Tracking the status of customer issues, gathering the needed information for the client. Support the deep technical communication around the tickets to overcome communication, location and specialization gaps
Reproducing customer failures, performing and logging measurements in the vehicle or other customer testing setup to support root cause analysis
Giving electrical and electronic technical explanations and support to the clients customer related to the clients steering products
Schedule, oversee and participate vehicle events where thyssenkrupp needs to attend and support
In order to be considered for the role you will have the following skills:
In depth knowledge of electrical and electronic steering systems
Must be familiar with electrical and electronic development systems (ASPICE, ISO 26262 etc.)
Good understanding of electrical and electronic hardware
Fluent in Hungarian
Knowledge of German would be an advantage, but not essential
