Job description

JOB AD: As a Field Application Engineer, you will have a foundation in using APIs in media applications, ideally across several common development languages and device environments. Some existing knowledge of media workflows and an understanding of video encoding and decoding - ideally within the OTT / broadcast media, and online video space is preferable. The role requires someone highly motivated, organised and technically creative with an eye for detail and great communication skills. We are looking for someone passionate and knowledgeable about media, who can interact with some of the world's largest social media platforms, broadcasters, telcos, and content owners on a technical level to deliver value to them through the rapid successful deployment of LCEVC. Responsibilities Join account calls with the commercial team and head of integration services and own the process of capturing all technical requirements for a deployment of our LCEVC encoding and decoding SDKs. Capture all technical customer communication accurately for continuity and reference. Assist the head of integration services and commercial team with proposals for FAE, NRE and professional services work based on the technical requirements gathered from the customer. Support the sales engineering team with the technical qualification of sales opportunities and technical feasibility analysis to determine whether integration projects should be pursued. Own technical interactions with the account (both video service providers and video ecosystem vendors) to ensure that integration projects proceed successfully. Participate in virtual or onsite client project planning sessions to support our integration engineers with technical architecture, design and project scheduling. Interact internally with our engineering teams to develop a strong knowledge of our different SDKs and how they are used in a variety of media use cases. Be able where required to evaluate third-party application code and assist customers in debugging issues Become the technical point of contact for customers to resolve critical issues as a support engineer throughout the deployment project and after completion. Support sales engineering with the definition of POCs and trials to be conducted with prospects to validate LCEVC within their video ecosystem or their video product. Ensure the timely delivery of all projects with a customer or partner (including PoCs and deployments), involving the relevant parts within the organisation to respect the projects timescales and ensure a high quality of customer service throughout the engagement. Work closely with Product Managers to maintain the feedback loop from customers. On occasion support the commercial team with demos, marketing events and tradeshows. Travel internationally when required by the business to meet prospects, customers and partners. Qualifications A good degree in either Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline Foundational knowledge of at least one of C++, Java and Javascript 3-5 years' experience in either a technical support or engineering role, ideally for a technology company selling or supporting Video Encoding/IPTV/OTT solutions. Demonstrated ability to multi-task across a wide range of tasks. Demonstrated ability to present to business or technical audiences and able to change approach of communication. The ability to assess client needs effectively and address those needs through products and services. A hands-on approach. Proven ability to operate flexibly and effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up in which cross-functional teamwork and initiative are a must. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in English. Action oriented and a self-starter.
