Pastoral Assistant Headteacher - Secondary Phase Salary: Inner London Leadership Scale L14 to L18 (£73,932 - £80,554) Required: September 2024 Contract/Duration: Permanent, Full-Time Location: SE3 0XX, Blackheath, London Borough of Lewisham

We are looking to appoint a Pastoral Assistant Headteacher for our Secondary Phase to join the Academy Senior Leadership Team. This post is equally suited to those seeking their first Assistant Headteacher post or to Assistant Headteachers seeking a new challenge. St Matthew Academy is a high performing Catholic school where pupils flourish both academically and socially. In Feb 2023, our CSI inspection stated 'The behaviour of pupils is exemplary in lessons and around the school, and strong and positive relationships are evident throughout the school.' The successful candidate will be a highly visible, collaborative and aspirational leader who will model the highest levels of professionalism and inspire, motivate and develop staff and pupils. They will be supportive of and drive the Academy's aim to ensure equity and diversity permeates throughout the Academy. They will work alongside the pastoral deputy head and another AHT, and be expected to take overall pastoral and academic responsibility for either KS3 or KS4, ensuring all pupils are able to flourish. The precise leadership responsibilities will be negotiated to suit the skills of the successful applicant and the existing team, taking into account their experience as well as the needs of the school.
