A Snapshot of Your Day You will be a technical point of contact within the business for both internal and external customers. You will build a knowledge base in our current products (YG1

YG2

YG3) and work with the business to help move forward and expand into new product lines.An important part of the role will be to provide engineering technical support with design and assembly queries both on site and within our factory facility. You will work within a team of engineers designing and modifying large substation control systems and switch gear components to meet specific customer requirements. You will also be tasked with using engineering design tools to aid with project and product components designs. Your Role To work with the team lead to deliver secondary engineering design packages adhering to processes and the business strategy. Good working knowledge of secondary layouts and equipment drawings associated with HV electrical substations. Have a working knowledge of gas insulated and air insulated switch gear and its design and operation principles. Working understanding of switchgear monitoring systems Working understanding of transformer and reactor systems To prepare technical specifications, secondary design systems drawings, sub-assemblies and component drawings. Interrogate customer and industrial technical specifications to deliver high quality designs, drawings and documents. To have or gain the ability to design, check and integrating secondary system and component design with the aid of 2D modelling software. Assist in recommending and inputting new designs, design changes and processes to meet specific project and overall business requirements. Assist in material identification and specification. Conversant with Health & Safety standards applicable to the design of High Voltage substations. To support and review supplier product and internal factory assembly queries from a technical point of view. Participate in cost reduction and sales stimulation ideas within the business. Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies, for example Business Conduct Guidelines & Confidential Information. Teamwork and interpersonal skills, ownership and accountability are pivotal for this role, you will be empowered to make a positive contribution to the team. Make full use on the Non-conformance reporting (NCR) tool ensuring all NCRs are closed out in a timely manner.

What You Bring / Your Profile Degree level working in a Secondary Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering subject or relevant experience. Typically, 5 years of design experience within the electrical transmission and distribution industry out of which at least 3 years in the UK as a design engineer. Business qualification

Desirable Protection system Knowledge is Desirable Electrical / Mechanical Panel design knowledge is desirable.

Experience

Fully conversant with Microsoft

Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point & auto electrical drawing tools. Knowledge of the Electrical Supply Industry from a supplier or customer perspective preferred or equivalent industry with demonstrable transferrable skills or knowledge.
