Nuclear Safety Engineer , to be involved in nuclear safety, developing, and maintaining E3S Design Principles, supporting articulation and substantiation of E3S requirements in engineering design, and driving E3S requirements into design activities while guiding stakeholders. Purpose for the Role The Nuclear Safety Engineer (E3S Engineering interface) will ensure stringent compliance with environmental, safety, security, and safeguards (E3S) standards in engineering design. In this role, you'll drive E3S requirements into design activities, providing proactive advice and guidance to the engineering team. Your responsibilities include reviewing engineering designs for accurate incorporation of E3S requirements and collaborating closely with E3S analysis teams to deliver informed designs. Additionally, you'll serve as the primary interface with regulators, leading licensing activities for various engineering topics such as Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering. Your expertise will be crucial in facilitating the smooth deployment of Rolls-Royce SMR, and you'll be responsible for preparing and responding to queries from customers and regulators, ensuring seamless integration of E3S requirements. About the Role The Nuclear Safety Engineer will be involved in the development and maintenance of Environment, Safety, Security, and Safeguards (E3S) Design Principles and Requirements to ensure their integration into the design process. Additionally, the position entails representing Rolls-Royce SMR's E3S position to both internal and external stakeholders, highlighting the company's commitment to stringent safety standards. Moreover, the Nuclear Safety Engineer conducts technical reviews of engineering and analysis documents, ensuring alignment with E3S Principles and Requirements. Furthermore, the role involves providing essential support in delivering Rolls-Royce SMR licensing activities, playing a crucial role in facilitating regulatory assessments, and ensuring the successful progression of projects. Candidate Overview Degree in engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent experience Ability to integrate well within a project team of cross-functional stakeholders. Experience with the UK civil nuclear regulatory regime. Experience with one or more of nuclear safety, security, or environment analysis methods and regulations. Knowledge of PWR plant design and operation. Pay and Benefits We anticipate a paying salary of between £ 40,000 and £52,000, a performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%, an attractive pension scheme with 12% employer and 6% employee contributions. You will also receive a flexible benefits allowance of £2,200, enabling you to create a bespoke package to suit your needs.
