Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for an Head of Manufacturing on behalf of a global CDMO organization.


Role purpose:

As a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) you will manage the operational activities of the site with overall responsibility of manufacturing execution with regard to safety, quality and on-time-in full delivery. You will be managing a team of production leaders, supervisors and specialists and will ultimately be accountable for the performance and results of the assigned area including cost control.


Key accountabilities:

  • Leading a team of production managers (chemists/ chemical engineers), supervisors and specialists incl. Hiring, talent development, regular coaching and feedback on day-to-day basis. She/he creates a working environment that fosters high performance, willingness to win and psychological safety
  • Accountable for reliable, timely and safe supply in high quality of all products of her/his team
  • Builds and maintains trustful relations to key interface functions incl. Quality, SCM, Project Management, EHS, HR, Finance
  • As a member of the Site Leadership Team responsible for all aspect of general production management such as housekeeping, staff behavior, training activities and control of general processes and installations
  • Ensures a good information exchange from the upper management levels to his/her team and the other way around through regularly team meetings and escalation of manufacturing issues
  • Drives change and challenges the status quo to continuously improve the organization
  • Operational specialist and frequent contact for BU team members in all questions of production planning (S&OP process), technical evaluations and feasibility requests
  • Responsible for regular performance control such as weekly report, dashboard, Hoshin Board and other reporting tools


Key requirements:

  • Strong and proven leadership skills, and high level of self-motivation, integrity, perseverance and result orientation
  • Significant work experience in chemical manufacturing preferably in leadership positions
  • Broad chemical expertise and knowledge in chemical engineering
  • Deep GMP and EHS knowledge
  • Understanding of business and financial processes is advantageous
  • Practical experience of OE / LEAN – methodology is a plus
