Job description

Are you a qualified accountant looking for a hands-on leadership opportunity in a purpose-driven, fast-growing organisation?

We're exclusively recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a private equity-backed healthcare group with an outstanding reputation and ambitious growth plans. Based in Enfield North London, this hybrid role (3 days office-based) is ideal for someone ready to step into a key leadership position and make an immediate impact.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the finance function of a specialist healthcare division.
  • Owning the full month-end close process, with a focus on speeding up reporting timelines and improving data accuracy.
  • Driving the successful implementation of Sage Intacct, working with the senior leadership team to ensure seamless integration and value-add reporting.
  • Building stronger financial processes and controls across the business to enhance insight and support operational decisions.
  • Leading and developing a small team (non-qualified staff), coaching them through financial rigour and best practice.
  • Playing a hands-on role in commercial pricing, supplier contracts, and preparing for audit and statutory compliance.
  • Working closely with the wider group finance function and local leadership to deliver strategic and operational change.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong technical grounding.
  • Confident leading a team, especially one with less experience.
  • Sharp, analytical mindset and excellent Excel skills.
  • Hands-on attitude – comfortable rolling up sleeves and improving processes on the ground.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102 and experience with accounting platforms (Sage Intacct a plus).
  • Comfortable operating in a scaling, multi-site business – ideally in healthcare, care, or a people-based service sector.

Why Apply?

  • Be part of a mission-led organisation making a tangible difference in people’s lives.
  • Join a business undergoing significant investment, change, and growth.
  • Work closely with a supportive and visionary leadership team.
  • Make a strategic impact while still being close to the day-to-day operations.

If you're a commercially-minded qualified accountant with the drive to lead and improve, and you want to be part of a values-led high-growth business.
