Residential conveyancer 1-4PQE | Hybrid Working | Private Client conveyancing knowledge
London | £40-70k+ (as guide, competitive/depending on experience)
Are you a competent residential conveyancer ready to take the next step in your career within a highly regarded boutique private client firm?
Oculus are working with a reputable London firm with an outstanding reputation within private client matters. Their PC team now seeks a confident and experienced conveyancing lawyer (1-4+ PQE) to join them. You’ll enjoy genuine flexibility plus clear opportunities for career progression.
The successful candidate should have residential conveyancing experience, and be willing and able to cross over into rural property work (rural property experience is helpful, but not essential). The candidate should be able to work as part of a team, but be comfortable working independently and running their own transactions.
The candidate should ideally have at least 1 - 4 years experience in property law and have an appropriate professional qualification (i.e. Solicitor or CILEX trained).
The firm’s core focus is private client and the property team supports the private client offering. The firm very rarely takes on new clients and therefore the successful applicant would ideally not have a client following and business development/marketing skills would not be necessary.
Role and responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and amending legal documentation within conveyancing matters
- Strategically advising clients in meetings, on the phone and in writing
- Managing client expectations and project delivery appropriately and efficiently
- Supporting private client offering
Key requirements
- Qualified lawyer (1– 4 PQE)
- Strong technical knowledge of the legal framework surrounding conveyancing matters
- Self-starter with the desire and ability to continuously acquire, build upon and share knowledge
- Detail-focused and self-motivated approach
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and transactions
- Excellent client relationship skills
- Sound experience of operating and supporting within private client matters
- Strong commercial/business acumen with the ability to deliver creative and pragmatic solutions and advice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborative team player with the ability to develop and work in a fast paced environment
- Actively working within private practice firm and not consultancy model
