Job description

Insights Lead – Market Research Team Leader

Location: SW London (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £65,000

Sector: Medical Devices / Healthcare / Life Sciences

Are you an experienced Market Research Manager ready to take the next step? We’re looking for a Market Research Team Lead to join a growing healthcare media and insights company. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys both managing a team and staying hands-on with research delivery, client relationships, and building new insight-driven products.

The Role and Responsibilities:

This role is central to the company’s commercial insight strategy, with a strong focus on quantitative research—including market tracking, share analysis, and procedural volume reports. You’ll also lead bespoke projects like attitudinal surveys and phone-based qualitative research. The team also manages qualitative recruitment, which brings in its own revenue.

You’ll work closely with publishing, events, and commercial teams, delivering research that shapes key decisions in the medical device and life sciences space. And, as the team grows, you’ll help shape the future of the department and its offerings.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and support a small, talented research team—ensuring top-quality output and smooth delivery.
  • Oversee (and get stuck into) the design and delivery of both quant and qual research projects.
  • Run quarterly market tracking projects and custom one-off studies.
  • Own client relationships from briefing to final delivery—building trust and showing the impact of your insights.
  • Design and script surveys (e.g., using Qualtrics), analyse the data, and turn it into clear, compelling stories.
  • Spot opportunities for new commercial offerings, help shape proposals, and support pitches.
  • Work with internal teams (like editorial, marketing, events and sales) to make sure insights align with wider business goals.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years in market research (agency or client-side), with solid quant skills; qual experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience with market sizing, tracking, or longitudinal data is ideal.
  • A background (or strong interest) in healthcare, MedTech, or life sciences is a must have
  • Confident leading projects and ideally some experience mentoring or managing a team.
  • Great with data and presentations—Excel and PowerPoint are must-haves; bonus points for SPSS, Power BI or similar.
  • Comfortable presenting insights and working closely with clients.
  • A self-starter with a commercial mindset, always on the lookout for new ideas and improvements.
