Job Title: Head of Category

Direct Reports: 5+

Location: Slough or Weybridge Office

Salary: £90,000–£100,000 depending on experience

Role Overview:

As Head of Category, you’ll play a key leadership role in defining and executing category strategy across a number of high-profile product lines. This is a strategic and hands-on role, focused on driving growth, delivering commercial impact, and elevating performance across key retail and channel partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic direction for the Category & Merchandising function
• Collaborate with a talented team of Senior Category Managers, Category Managers and Assistants to build and deliver best-in-class category plans
• Develop and refine pricing strategies to maximise margin and competitiveness
• Curate and manage product ranges based on customer insight, market data, and commercial priorities
• Ensure flawless execution of category and merchandising initiatives across all channels
• Conduct in-depth range reviews, optimising space, flow, assortment and SKU productivity
• Own the design and rollout of promotional strategies that drive footfall, engagement, and revenue

What We're Looking For:

• A strong leader with proven experience in category management, merchandising, or retail buying
• A track record of delivering results and driving commercial performance
• Excellent understanding of customer behaviour, market dynamics, and category trends
• Strong stakeholder management and confident communication skills
• Experience working with suppliers and managing performance metrics
• Passionate about FMCG, the product, and delivering value to the customer
• Sharp commercial acumen and the ability to influence at a senior level
