Percival is excited to be working with The ExtraCare Charitable Trust (ExtraCare) to source a new Chair for their Audit and Assurance Committee. The Committee provides independent oversight and critical challenge, enabling it to provide assurance to the Board.


ExtraCare is a charity that really does deliver on its vision of ‘better lives for older people’ – developing and operating integrated retirement communities for older people and supporting them to live independently and well. The Charity mission is ‘creating sustainable communities that provide Homes older people want; Lifestyles they can enjoy; and Care if it’s needed’.


Title: Chair of Audit and Assurance Committee

Remuneration: Unremunerated (with reasonable expenses paid)

Location: Hybrid - Committees tend to be remote, Board meetings are held in person on site across the ExtraCare locations (England)

Time Commitments: Estimated at 12-15 days a year

Term: The Trustee term is for three years.


The post holder will lead the Committee in its role in reviewing and scrutinising ExtraCare’s financial affairs, internal control, risk management, and governance arrangements: providing assurance to the Board that these are appropriate, proportionate and compliant with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and that residents, customers and other stakeholder interests are protected.


ExtraCare is seeking an individual with prior Board experience who understands the responsibilities of governance and brings experience in accountancy, finance, and risk. The ideal person for this role will have a passion for improving the lives of older people.
