Commercial Fire & Security Instructor


Location - Depending on training schedules. Your week might include delivering a multi-day session on-site across the UK, followed by remote planning, course creation, or virtual delivery at home.


National travel will be expected when required.


Salary - If no training experience, circa £40k DOE until fully qualified. Rising to high £40's once qualified.


Are you an experienced Fire & Security professional ready to inspire and upskill the next generation? We’re looking for a hands-on technical trainer to deliver engaging, high-impact training across a wide range of systems. From fire alarms and access control to CCTV and intruder detection.


Full training will be provided and you will be put through a teaching qualification.


You’ll work with learners from across the sector, from new starters to seasoned engineers helping them gain confidence, competence, and recognised qualifications and courses.


What You’ll Be Doing?

  • Lead the delivery of practical, interactive courses both face-to-face across the UK and remotely via online platforms
  • Design, update, and maintain course materials in line with current industry practices and technologies
  • Tailor training content to suit the specific needs of commercial clients
  • Support learners working toward regulated qualifications (e.g. EAL, FireQual)
  • Monitor trends and emerging technologies to ensure training stays relevant and up-to-date
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of delivery and learner engagement


What we're looking for?

  • Strong technical background in Fire & Security systems (fire systems experience highly desirable)
  • A genuine passion for teaching and mentoring others
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your delivery to suit a range of learner needs
  • Confident working independently and contributing to a collaborative training team
  • Comfortable with digital tools, including e-learning platforms and learning management systems
  • Previous training or assessment experience is a bonus but not essential if you’re keen to develop in this area
