Job description
Responsibilities
- Prepare summaries, reports, and gap analyses to keep the Compliance function and key stakeholders informed of relevant regulatory developments.
- Act as a trusted advisor by collaborating with colleagues across the compliance team to investigate queries and escalate issues relating to policy, procedures, licensing, and business placement.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and effective compliance support across the organisation and its affiliated entities.
- Monitor and assess changes in regulations and legislation relevant to the jurisdictions in which the business operates, identifying potential impacts.
- Provide clear, pragmatic compliance guidance, ensuring alignment with relevant regulatory and legal requirements.
- Support the coordination and resolution of business complaints, including the review and management of due diligence requests from external counterparties.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports for internal governance forums, such as Compliance Committee meetings.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of compliance training resources, including e-learning modules, guides, and internal communications.
- Support the preparation and submission of regulatory returns and responses to information requests from regulatory bodies, including the FCA and other relevant authorities.
Experience and Knowledge
- Experience within the London insurance market, with familiarity in the application of regulatory and legal frameworks
- Exposure to financial crime controls, including KYC reviews or compliance monitoring
- Understanding of managing conflicts of interest and working knowledge of FCA conduct standards (e.g. Consumer Duty, product governance)
