Head of Employment – 5+ Years PQE

Location: Chelmsford

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

**6 DAYS A WEEK FOR FIRST 6 MONTHS** Then hybrid working available.

A well-established, family-run law firm with a commercial focus is seeking an experienced Solicitor to lead their growing Employment team. The firm prides itself on delivering expert legal advice and first-class client service to individuals and businesses.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading the Employment team, managing support staff, and working closely with a wide client base. This senior role involves providing commercially minded employment law advice, managing litigation, and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and manage the Employment team to maintain high standards of client service
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and referrers
• Provide expert advice on employment law issues to individuals and businesses, including litigation and advocacy
• Advise clients ranging from start-ups to SMEs on day-to-day employment and HR matters, ensuring compliance and up-to-date documentation
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve business targets and contribute to growth initiatives

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified Solicitor with 5+ years PQE specialising in Employment Law
• Confident litigator and advocate with strong legal knowledge
• Excellent communication skills with a professional and client-focused approach
• Highly organised, proactive, and committed to professional development
• Strong leadership skills and a team-oriented mindset
