Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with Product Owners, Architects and Application Owners to design cloud migration strategies using Azure Migrate and Google Cloud Migration Center.

• Produce designs and supporting design/architectural decisions for cloud migration solution(s) enabling seamless migrations cloud to cloud, and on-prem to resilient cloud landing zones (Azure and GCP).

• Engineer automated solution(s) using Infrastructure as Code and orchestration tooling to fast-track assessment and migration of workloads with minimum downtime.

• Optimise infrastructure and modernise applications through rehosting, refactoring, and re-architecting where beneficial.

• Utilise Azure Migrate and Google Cloud Migration Center for server, storage, database, and application discovery and migration.


Required Skills & Experience:

• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

• Comfortable working to Agile methodologies.

• Experience of mass-migration workloads cross-platform from on-premises and cloud origins to Azure and GCP.

• Expertise in Azure and GCP services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Databases, Security, Identity).

• Hands-on experience with Azure Migrate and Google Cloud Migration Center, including:

o Discovery, Assessment and Replication tool/appliance/service deployment and usage for servers, storage, databases, and web applications.

o Server Migration using agentless or agent-based replication techniques.

o Database Migration Service (DMS) for seamless database transitions.

o App Service Migration Assistant for web application migrations.

• Comprehensive understanding of Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system requirements and dependencies

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and Orchestration/Automation tooling (Terraform, Harness, scripting languages)

• Understanding of Azure security and compliance frameworks.

• Infrastructure as Code, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments using Terraform Cloud, GitHub and Harness.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across teams.

• Confidence to present and defend designs in governance forums

• Focus on automation, reduction of toil and minimising technical debt.
