Meraki Talent are working with a special metals processing firm to appoint a Finance Controller into their business in West Bromwich. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the finance function, working directly with the head of finance. The role offers significant autonomy, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the chance to shape finance operations in a growing and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Held full ownership of accounting, financial control, and statutory reporting for the UK-regulated entity.
• Managed all aspects of month-end close, including preparation and posting of journals.
• Performed monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Collaborated closely with senior Operational and Production Managers to align financial processes with business operations.
• Supported the annual budgeting process, providing financial insights and analysis.
• Prepared and submitted accurate VAT returns in compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Prepared short- and long-term cash flow forecasts to support financial planning and liquidity management.
• Oversaw payroll processing in coordination with Head Office to ensure timely and accurate payments.

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Background in manufacturing or construction or a similar industry
