Job description

Stanton House is partnering with a high-growth, globally operating technology & media group. The business in now entering an exciting phase of expansion, professionalisation, and value creation, targeting a strategic exit within the next few years.


We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Chief Financial Officer to join the leadership team at a pivotal point in the companies’ growth journey. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the direction of a scaling business and play a central role in driving its transformation and exit strategy.


The successful candidate will bring credibility, insight, and energy to the CFO role, elevating finance from a traditional reporting function to a strategic growth enabler. You’ll work closely with the CEO and Board, partnering across the business to unlock margin, scale operations, and realise shareholder value.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic & Commercial Finance

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board, providing insight and challenge to business plans, commercial models, and investment cases
  • Translate the value creation plan into deliverable financial initiatives and metrics
  • Lead and develop FP&A capabilities, ensuring world-class budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning


Exit Preparation

  • Shape and drive the company’s financial readiness for exit
  • Manage external stakeholders, data rooms, and financial due diligence processes
  • Support the creation of a compelling equity story for prospective buyers


Finance Function Leadership

  • Modernise and scale the finance function into a proactive, commercially engaged team
  • Improve systems, reporting, and internal controls across the group
  • Ensure compliance and operational efficiency across multiple jurisdictions


Investor & Board Engagement

  • Lead regular reporting to investors, including covenant tracking, performance metrics, and board packs
  • Build strong relationships with banks, auditors, legal advisors, and tax consultants


M&A & International Growth

  • Support M&A activities from evaluation through to integration
  • Lead on international finance strategy, including tax optimisation, FX, and local compliance


Candidate Profile


Experience Required

  • Proven CFO or senior finance executive in a PE- or investor-backed environment
  • Experience in mid-market businesses with global reach
  • Exposure to recurring-revenue models such as digital subscriptions, SaaS, or B2B media
  • A track record of preparing and delivering a successful exit
  • Strong FP&A and business partnering credentials
  • Involvement in M&A transactions, including due diligence and post-deal integration


Attributes & Skills

  • Commercially sharp and operationally hands-on
  • Strategic mindset with a practical approach to execution
  • Systems-oriented, with experience improving or implementing ERP systems (ideally SAP Business One)
  • Credible and confident communicator, especially at board and investor level
  • Able to hit the ground running and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
