Product Owner - 6 month contract role - Hybrid working - Reading
Our client is looking for an experienced and security-focused Product Owner across Identity and Privileged Access Management workstreams (IAM/PAM).
In this role, you will be responsible for defining and managing the roadmap and backlog for key IAM/PAM capabilities, ensuring that systems are secure, compliant, and aligned with business needs.
You’ll collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, corporate technology, and compliance teams to deliver scalable and user-centric access solutions that reduce risk and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and own the product vision and strategy for IAM and PAM capabilities, including identity lifecycle management, authentication, authorization, privileged access controls, and role-based access.
• Prioritise and manage a well-groomed product backlog that reflects risk mitigation, compliance, and business value.
• Develop detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for access management features and integrations.
• Collaborate with security architects, corporate technology, compliance, and operations teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise security architecture and policies.
• Lead agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews) and serve as the go-to person for product-related questions and direction.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to IAM/PAM.
• Define and track KPIs related to access risk, system performance, and user satisfaction.
Identity experience:
• Tangible experience as a Product Owner or similar role in cybersecurity, identity management, or access governance.
• Strong knowledge of IAM/PAM concepts, technologies, and tools (e.g., Okta, SailPoint, CyberArk, EntraID, LDAP, SSO, MFA).
• Understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Experience working in Agile environments and with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or GitHub.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex security requirements into clear product requirements.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust security models.
• Experience working in large enterprise or highly regulated environments.
