Head of Nursing & Quality – Mental Health Services

Regional Role – Across All Units in Birmingham

Salary starting from: £58,972 (dependent on experience and interview)

Full-time | Permanent


Are you a visionary leader with a passion for driving excellence in mental health care? We’re seeking an experienced Head of Nursing & Quality to lead on clinical standards, governance, and service improvement across our Birmingham-based units.

This is a regional leadership role where you’ll shape the future of care delivery, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed a culture of quality, safety, and compassionate nursing practice across our services.


About the Role: As Head of Nursing & Quality, you will:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all Birmingham units
  • Ensure high standards of clinical practice, governance, and patient safety
  • Lead on quality assurance, clinical audits, and regulatory readiness (CQC compliance)
  • Support and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and professional accountability
  • Act as a senior role model, championing the organisation’s values, vision, and mission

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration (essential)
  • Substantial leadership experience in mental health care settings
  • Strong understanding of governance, safeguarding, and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven ability to manage teams and services across multiple sites
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
  • A commitment to collaborative, person-centred care and workforce development
