HR Business Partner - Engineering Sector

London / Croydon (Hybrid – 2–3 Days Onsite)

£65,000 - £70,000 + Benefits

Permanent | Full-Time | Max 1-Month Notice


We're hiring an experienced HR Business Partner to support a large-scale engineering and operations function within a major UK transport organisation.

This is a high-impact, strategic role partnering with senior leaders across a blue-collar workforce of 3,500+ employees. You’ll be central to driving change across operational teams, building engagement, and shaping the future culture of a highly unionised environment.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Partnering with C-suite and Director-level stakeholders within Engineering & Network Operations
  • Leading strategic HR initiatives, workforce planning, and organisational change projects
  • Driving culture and engagement programmes aligned with ongoing transformation
  • Managing complex union relationships and supporting negotiations
  • Leading talent and succession planning within a high-performance operational setting
  • Supporting implementation of new HR systems and performance tools


What We’re Looking For:

  • An experienced HR Business Partner, with strong strategic business partnering at senior levels
  • Extensive experience in unionised, operational environments (e.g., engineering, rail, manufacturing, logistics)
  • A strong change leader, capable of influencing cultural transformation and performance at scale
  • Demonstrated success in driving people initiatives in large, complex organisations
